Refreshed Sony VAIO Y Ultraportable Now Available

Sony has refreshed the VAIO Y ultraportable laptop series, which now includes an 11.6-inch display, instead of 13.3″, and an AMD Fusion APU, instead of Intel ULV processors.

Besides the 1366 x 768 screen and the AMD E-350 APU with dual 1.6GHz CPU cores, Radeon HD 6310 graphics, and UVD3 high-def video decoder, the new 3.2-pound Sony VAIO Y (YB) features 4GB of RAM, up to 500GB hard drive, up to 6 hours of run time with the standard battery, and Windows 7 Home Premium OS.

The VAIO YB models feature a chiclet-style keyboard, webcam with microphone, HDMI and VGA outputs, 802.11n wireless, Bluetooth, Ethernet LAN, Memory Stick Duo and SD card slots, and three USB 2.0 ports.

Sony’s ultraportable has a silver chassis with a silver or pink display lid.

The laptop starts at $599.99 at the Sony online store.laptoping.com
