“I always tell my players that it is important to win, but it is also paramount to win by big margins,” Mourinho explained. “I liked winning 3-1, but thought we could have tried a little harder and done more to score another goal.”
Famed during stints with Chelsea and Inter as a coach who likes to settle for 1-0 victories, Mourinho’s Madrid have perhaps been a little more pragmatic than their fans might appreciate. Still commanding a perfect record at home this season, los Merengues’ form away from the Bernabeu has been a little more vulnerable.

Barcelona defender Maxwell (pic) has urged his team-mates not to look past tonight’s opponents Almeria.
Barca have huge league and cup showdowns with fierce rivals Real Madrid ahead of them this month, in which they could all but wrap up a domestic double.
And while the talk has already begun ahead of these games, full-back Maxwell admits it would be dangerous to overlook their upcoming opponents, knowing they must take three points against rock-bottom Almeria to maintain their eight-point advantage at the top of the Primera Division.
He said: “It's a very dangerous thing if we start thinking about Real Madrid.
“We have to respect both Almeria and Shakhtar (Donetsk in the Champions League) - then we'll see.”
While Barcelona head into this game on the back of three successive victories in all competitions, Almeria’s unbeaten run was stretched to three games with defeat to Athletic Bilbao last time out. (football-news)

Soccer Extreme : Barcelona technical director, Andoni Zubizarreta, has emphasised the potential importance of new signing Ibrahim Afellay, after the Dutch international opened his scoring account with the Blaugrana during an impressive performance against Almeria.

Afellay has been considered one of the bargains of the January transfer window, as the Catalans signed the 24-year-old for just €3 million from Dutch giants PSV.
