CAMPANA, July 6, 2011 (AFP) - The young star of the Brazilian team, Neymar, said Wednesday that he is "happy" to know that his game has been compared to Lionel Messi, whom he described as "the world's best".
"I am happy to be compared with the best in the world. He is above all. I believe that with working hard, playing well, I hope to someday get where he got. But he is the top", said the Santos (BRA) attacker, recent winner of the Copa Libertadores.
In a press conference at the Sofitel in Campana (63 km north of Buenos Aires), Neymar said that for now he has plans to continue at the club in São Paulo, and do not know what happens outside of the concentration of Brazil and what the future will be, because he is "focused on the Brazilian national team."
Neymar, 19, had a good start in the 2011 Copa America, and was confident that not only he but the whole team will improve for the match against Paraguay, on Wednesday, in Cordoba (770 km west of Buenos Aires).
"It will be a tough game. The markings are always the same, the way it is in Santos, where I am strong and I'm ready for that. I'm in the Brazilian team, one dream I had as a child and it is wonderful to represent my country, so I will give my best", said the new 'jewel' of the ‘canarinho’ team. www.ca2011.com
