Sao Paulo veteran Rogerio Ceni has become the first ‘keeper on record to be recognised by both FIFA and the International Federation of Football History and Statistics to reach 100 career goals (second place Jose Chilavert has 98 goals) after whipping home a trademark free-kick against Corinthians yesterday.
Ceni has made more than 950 appearance for Sao Paulo, pitching his goal-scoring ratio at somewhere around the 1 in 10 mark – i.e, the kind of goals-to-game count that someone like Emile Heskey would kill a man in cold blood for.
Anyway, we’ve also managed to track down a video of all 100 of Ceni’s goals for the Tricolor – y’know, if you happen to fancy spending the next 11 minutes watching a gloved fellow poke home free-kick after penalty after free-kick.
